From the Search Engine Journal, anthonyparsons.com:
Google Pagerank Updates Every Day?
3/27/2004
[ Search Engine Marketing ]
This is interesting. As GG continues to highlight the fact the PR updates are now just "display" updates, he uses the term "everyday occurence" with respect to PR updates. While it is well known that actual PR updates happen much more frequent than in the past, this is first time GoogleGuy has hinted that PR may actually be updated daily (or perhaps, in near-realtime?)
Google Guy mentions daily updates. What impact will this have within the SEO world?

Ten Tips to the Top of the Search Engines:
The Search Engine Journal: 3/17/2004

"Having a Web site that gets found in Google and the other engines isn't hard to do, but it can be difficult to know where to begin. Here are ten tips to get you started: "

Google and Yahoo :: What works well and what won't
By: Jim Hedger , 03-18-2004
"Last week I wrote about how we plan out our search engine placement campaigns. The past few months have been an interesting time in the world of search engine marketing but now the dust seems to be settling."

What is Yahoo! Web Rank (Beta)?
"Yahoo! Web Rank is the name that Yahoo! has given to a technical measurement of a particular URL's popularity"

Yahoo Watch has its own Yahoo search proxy
"Unlike on Yahoo's site, on this proxy it is easy to see which links are PPC/PFI (pay per click and/or pay for inclusion) in the algorithmic results, by noting the huge redirected URLs with yahoo.com/click in them. "

Hmmm, when I search for "Digital Ink Weblog" the address shows:

Now what does that mean? I didn't do any pay per click....

Blogs as a political tool....

Associated Press

Friday March 19, 2:18 am ET
By Christopher Bodeen, Associated Press Writer

SHANGHAI, China (AP) -- China has shut down a pair of Web sites that were free-ranging user forums known as blogs, stepping up government attempts to control political discussion on the Internet, a media watchdog group reported even as one site reappeared Friday."

Corporate America turns on... and does Robert Scoble have the power?
Fast Company | It's A Blog World After All: "It's A Blog World After All
Blogs were once the domain of angst-ridden teens and doomed presidential candidates. But the likes of Verizon, IBM, Microsoft, and Dr. Pepper are all climbing on the blogwagon. Turns out, Web logs are a nifty knowledge-management tool. And companies also see them as a promising medium for advertising (naturally)."

The 10 steps to get into the SEO "Hall of Shame"
By: Serge Thibodeau , 03-08-2004

Most people have heard of the hall of fame, but to many, the hall of shame may not be as well known. My goal in this article is to help ensure that you never have an opportunity to be in it, not even from a distance! Here are some ways that a website owner or webmaster can get in trouble with some of today's major search engines."

At rugles.com, a writer posts:

Search Engine Positioning and Web Marketing weblog: Google, Yahoo! and Blogs.:
"Google, Yahoo! and Blogs.

We 'all' knew that Google liked blogs and blogging. Blogs were considered a 'fresh', and 'hip' way of adding quality - ahem - content in the 21st century Internet. Google, as we know, also wanted to get involved even in the technology behind blooging by purchasing Blogger, one of the most popular blog tools. mOreover, blog pages were given a rather special status in the Search Engine Results pages, exactly due to the fact that blogs represented frequently updated and quality - ahem, ahem - content. "

All in the Family at Jeremy Allaire's Radio:
Onfolio, Micro-content, and Search Information Management
"Today, Onfolio Inc. launched their namesake product Onfolio, helping to shape and define a new and important category in Internet software -- search information management.
Onfolio helps Internet users to easily collect, organize and share their research. The product is built around the idea that 'search' has become the most common Internet activity, yet end-users have had virtually no good tools to help them manage and share all the 'micro-content' that they find on the Internet."

The Big Boys Weigh In....
The Doc Searls Weblog : Sunday, March 14, 2004:
"The Aggregation Point"
"Here's a tipping point harbinger: Seth Godin has weighed in on (and with) RSS. Sez Seth: Which means it's going to be hard to get me to shut up for a while about it.

Read Doc's second post on the ubiquity of it. The Doc Searls Weblog : Wednesday, March 10, 2004
What will make this work (or not work) is that we don't yet have an amazon, ebay, yahoo or google of RSS. It's still too homemade.
Of course, there isn't a 'Google of RSS' because Google has gone with Atom for its Blogger feeds. "

RSS Tipping Point: Chad Dickerson writes:
Ever since we began publishing RSS feeds at InfoWorld, the requests for our home page had always exceeded requests for our Top News RSS feed. Not any more."

What is a reBlog?

A reBlog facilitates the process of filtering and republishing relevant content from many RSS feeds. reBloggers subscribe to their favorite feeds, preview the content, and select their favorite posts. These posts are automatically published to a Movable Type weblog. "

Dave Winer proposes....

RSS is Raging: Scripting News: 3/9/2004:

...I've outlined a plan to merge RSS and Atom, much the same way we merged UserLand's format with Netscape's format in 1999. By making this offer to the Atom people I'm giving them a chance to get out of conflict with RSS. I think it's something users can support. I hope they get together and make a serious counter. Why shouldn't they?"

Blogs Mean Better Listings on Google, but can you make money from them? - The Unofficial Google Weblog - google.weblogsinc.com: "Webpronews has a story about a talk by Rick Bruner where he explains the various types of blogs out there, what they're good for and if they can make money.
Shockingly he doesn't think they can, even though there are numerous people already making money from them. The reason he gives for them not making money is "Because blogs are basically just a great marketing tool."
